Project Interdependence: Nila Madhab Panda’s Take on Climate Change And Air Pollution in Delhi

Bhubaneswar: Noted film maker Nila Madhab Panda has a new assignment from the United Nations. This time he is going to be a part of an international association that will make a film on the worldwide phenomenon of rampant climate change.

He will be a part of the team of eleven film makers from around the world including Faouzi Bensaidi (Morocco), Asa Hjorleifsdottir (Iceland), Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Cannes winner from Chad, Sahel Region), Salome Lamas (Portugal), Bettina Oberli (Switzerland), Shahrbanoo Sadat (Afghanistan), Silvio Soldini (Italy), Daniela Thomas (Brazil), Leon Wang (China) and Karin Williams (New Zealand).

Selected by the UN to be a part of an anthology on climate change, Nila MadhabPanda has already started work on it. He is making his film on Delhi’s pollution. The short film will be a part of project Interdependence, an anthology of 11 films, in which each film is dedicated to raise awareness on the environment. Nila Madhab has chosen the ever increasing Air Pollution of Delhi as the main theme of his film. According to Nila Madhab, the film will try to reveal correlation between pollution and human relations.

The stage is set in a courtroom of Delhi where a married couple is on the verge of divorce. Artists include Divya Dutta as a judge and Tannishtha Chaterjee as a lawyer, with Manjari Fadnnis and Chandan Anand as the married couple.  The film is expected to be released later this year and will be seen in many of film festivals worldwide.
